People generally experience two types of pain. The first is acute pain, which is the body’s immediate response to physical trauma. We help patients manage acute pain through the use of therapeutic techniques, over–the–counter (OTC) and prescription medication. With this approach, acute pain diminishes as the injury heals.
Consistent pain experienced over a prolonged period is classified as chronic pain. Chronic pain may stem from an injury that has not healed properly, from a recurring injury, or certain medical conditions.
